BlackBerry Trade-In Program Coming To Nigeria Soon

Seeing how successful BlackBerry trade-in program had been in India where the sales of BlackBerry Z10 have boosted by 40%, it won't be surprising to see BlackBerry doing the same in other areas and Africa especially - in fact it's an excellent idea for it to be done worldwide.

As far as Africa is concerned, Nigeria is a place where a lot of smartphone users own BlackBerry devices more than any other smartphone.

However, there are more older BlackBerry devices being used than there are BlackBerry 10 devices used due to the high price of the newer BlackBerry 10 devices.

Consequently, it would be a wise choice to extend the trade-in programme used in India in Nigeria. The result seen in India would automatically be seen in Nigeria also.

It shouldn't be too difficult to know that this tactic is very good in retaining doubtful fans and fans that are about to bolt out of the BlackBerry atmosphere.

Furthermore BlackBerry 10 users will automatically increase the morale of developers to start developing apps for the device. Everyone including BlackBerry would be happy!

For now, the programme in India only see trade in programme for Z10 only; Q10 and Q5 aren't included.

Well, we shall keep you guys posted if such move is brought to other countries and Nigeria most especially.

Whatsapp Messenger for BlackBerry 10 Updated

The popular cross platform Instant social messaging app Whatsapp for BlackBerry 10 just got an update.

Various updates have been rolled out by Whatsapp over these past few months.

This could be due to the announcement by BlackBerry to make BlackBerry Messenger a cross platform app to run on Android and iOS.

Of course, if BBM goes cross platform, Whatsapp usage will diminish significantly .
In other to stay useful and not lack any feature that the BlackBerry might have, Whatsapp have decided to release various recent updates that would give users better experience and more stability.

The latest Whatsapp update to BlackBerry 10 comes with bugs fixes, enhancements and including the following:

    1. Fixes and Improvements to voice message

    2. Emoji input support for Messages

    3. Default maps app opening when received.

    4. Push notifications fixes

    5. Media auto download settings

Blackberry Company Crumbles and Soon To Be Sold

BlackBerry is on the verge of losing it, Oh BlackBerry, I so love you and don't want  your name to go into the bin like some have. Research In Motion, you failed to keep researching and developing, you ignored your former name and ended up in a messy state.

Lately, the news of Blackberry going private have permeate the web and although at first it sounded as a baseless rumour, but as the days unfolds, it became clear that BlackBerry is heading to that direction and it may eventually be sold or go private.

The truth is, BlackBerry is seriously struggling due to the competition it faces from giants like Android devices and Apple devices and the media isn't helping matters. BlackBerry was too comfortable with what it had years back and have failed to implement new strategies and also read the movements of technology advancements.

BlackBerry have released their new line of devices, all together called BlackBerry 10 but this should have happened years back when the capabilities of smartphones are skyrocketing dramatically.

Failure to have followed trends in the smartphone industry have landed BlackBerry into these mess where its even begging for it to be purchased. The option that have been proposed so far is either a merger or total sell out.

Fans of BlackBerry devices are not happy at all and want the Brand to stand up and fight the good fight.

Look at a fan's reaction  by the name currentodysseyswhich was extracted from Crackberry

The way things are going in the stock market for the company IMO BB is on the fence of shareholders potentially pressing at some point towards liquidating some of the assets (be it patents, tech etc) looking for more profits and a last minute bale out of a stock that is in problem at the moment.
Another take (not saying this is the case but certainly a possibility in my eyes), if the company goes private it gains total control, in order to be able to make the necessary moves and at least be able to give it a shot without the stock market and media bashing. It would be a potential strategic choice to go private with that kind of mentality.
Nonetheless, going private is not a reassurance of the company not being broken up but personally I believe it is better than being in the stock market at this point if BB is to have some room to make some serious moves.
What the direction would be and how it would play out is something that remains to be seen. I believe that BB10 is a quite strong and viable OS to have and this along with QNX is appealing as a tech to own. I do not pretend to know or be able to deduct what is in the oven, but I for one believe that going private is a one way street at this point, given the reactions in the public forum.
It may as well be that this was the intention all along. Be it what it may, I do seriously believe in BB10 being one of the best OSs out there today and certainly will keep using my Z10. Especially 10.2 is a very polished and nice OS and serves me greatly.
I would love to see the platform and OS keep being around and get stronger and I can only but hope that if any fund or private entity buys out the company, continue on delivering and developing this further in a better and more effective way in terms of branding and market expansion.
I have my pop corn and my soda and watching the news on my Z10 closely!
hope a better day comes for BB out of all this.

To be sincere, the releasing of BBM to do other platform may cripple the company further but that may be the only thing that would stand the test of time - cos, everyone knows BBM is the best messaging app out there

New Blackberry Z30 Smartphone Gallery and Video

    UPDATE:

I shall not give in to the waters that tends to swallow me, I will swim hard and conquer the waves. I will keep my head up and regain my dignity.

No matter what, Blackberry isn't going to give in to the overwhelming onslaught and competition from brands like Samsung and iPhone. Though Android and iOS have become the two strongest mobile operating system in the world, Blackberry's own OS 10 would still keep making its impact.

This you would see in its soon to be released  smartphone called the A10. Even though the Z10 didn't strike much of a cord, it seems as though the Blackberry A10 could strike that cord that the Z10 failed to strike.

Blackberry A10 would be called Blackberry Z30 and would have new navigation and customizable home screen. More videos can be seen here

Blackberry A10 is a elegantly built device and there is good indication that it would be loved by not only Blackberry lovers but other folks also.

Blackberry needs to seriously pump huge amount of money into marketing just like Samsung is doing. This advert should to seek to bring back lost customers and increase the faith of loyal and present customers while also trying to convince newbies to the smartphone world.

It won't be surprising if this A10 packs super good specs in order to make a strong statement to those that are already considering leaving the brand for the upcoming iPhone 5S or Moto X smartphone.

We are expecting the A10  to have a5 inch 1280 x 720 display and a dual - core processor.

Blackberry A10 is expected to be released by the end of Summer 2013. Also BBM for Android and iOS should be released around the time.

Comparison, Similarities and Differences: Blackberry Z10 & Q10

Blackberry released two devices running the new OS 10, Z10 and Q10. The devices are getting a good number of attention although not as much as Samsung and Apple devices.
With Blackberry Z10 being offered at $800 sim free and Q10 at $810 sim free, one may be confused as to why to should spend the extra $10 for Q10.
Furthermore, apart from the extra cash, what are the similarities and differences between the two?
Thus, the reason for this review and images below.
This should guide buyers into making a better more informed decision.

    Blackberry Z10

    Blackberry Q10

The image below gives you a better information in terms of comparison. A conclusion below to highlight the differences.

Q10 Specifications and features                                 Z10 Specifications and features

Differences from the two devices that would affect your buying decision

    1. Z10  has no physical keyboard but Q10 has a physical keyboard

    2. Z10 is lighter than Q10 in weight

    3. Z10 display is sharper than for Q10

    4. Z10 has no Wi-Fi Hotspot but Q10 has Wi-Fi Hotspot

    5. Z10 has no FM Radio but the Q10 is equipped with a FM Radio transmitter

    6. Z10 runs Blackberry OS 10 while Q10 is running Blackberry OS 10.1

They are both great smartphones, Blackberry, formerly RIM have done quite better this time. At least one can use Skype now just like other smartphones.

One thing all Blackberry users will miss on the Q10 is the absence of the trackpad that we are so used to - we are all going to get used to it or perhaps maybe re - introduced in future Blackberry devices.

After going through all the info above, making decision on Q10 or Z10 should be easier.

More images would be coming just to give you a better look into the devices in case  you don't want to go into the stores to check out for yourself just yet.

Therefore, stay tuned for more information especially for the upcoming R10 Blackberry smartphone
