Tecno M3 Specifications and Features

Tecno is making the news again after a slight break. This time around Tecno have released a low-end smartphone called Tecno M3 for those that are on a tight budget. 

This phone comes with 8GB internal memory card, USB adapter & charger, earphone and a plastic case.

Although Tecno L3 and D3 are almost the same with M3, M3 has a better camera (5mp) with more swift feel especially when browsing. L3 on the other hand has a better battery performance but much slower internet speed.

As we said in one of our posts, the 3 is a designation for low-end devices and the newly released L3 and M3 is proof of that. For a device of the price, feel and usage is smooth enough. Make sure you check the speaker of your M3 since some have reported that its not too clear.

Network: the new M3 supports both 2G and 3G networks

Connectivity: Bluetooth 3.0 with Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP). It also has WiFi and WiFi hotspot.

Operating System: Android Jelly Bean 4.2

Processor: dual core MT6572E 1.0GHz processor

RAM: 512 RAM

Memory: comes with 4GB internal memory which is expandable to 32GB using a MicroSD card.

Camera: 5mp rear fixed focus camera with flash. The front camera is 0.3mp optimized for video calls like Skype etc.

Battery: embedded with 1400mAh ion battery which gives you a talk time of 5hrs and 400hrs standby.

SIM: Dual SIM  standby phone with  SIM 1 operating on both 3G and 2G network. SIM 2 operates on 2G network only.

Apps: Over 500,000 apps from the play store are supported. Whatsapp, Facebook, 2go, etc.. Chrome, Opera mini browser are pre-installed. 

Screen and Display: 320 x 480 resolution with TFT capacitive touch  screen capable of displaying up to 256K colours. It has multi-touch gestures for pin to zoom etc.

Radio: Yes

Java: No

Sensors: G - sensor, Light sensor, proximity sensor  but no GPS.

Voice Recording: yes

Email: IMAP, POP3, SMTP, Microsoft Exchange

Office: document viewer and editor

Audio and Video: it supports mp3, wma, AAC, ogg, amr, mp4, WMV, AVI, 3gp etc.

Price: N12,000 -  N15,000

While the con is that the battery is still not too good. Tecno really need to work on their battery performance also the processor type which mostly drains battery. 
In overall, Tecno M3 is a better device compared to Tecno L3

From the specs above you will see that it's truly a low-end device with latest operating system running on it.

Since its low-end, we do not expect the RAM or screen/display to be too grand. If you are on a tight budget, I think you could go for this smartphone.

Apple to Release Less Expensive iPhones Soon

Apple is set to release the low budget iPhones soon. You would recall that Apple have been thinking about meeting some target markets lately especially in places like India where there are a lot of people with lower income compared with those with higher incomes.

The rumor that Apple would release low budget phones for these markets are already laid to rest and its seems like soon, it would be a reality. This we gathered from the Chinese tech blog Lieyunwang.

What would these low budgets iPhones look like?

Well, from the images above, we know that they won't have the usual metal build however they would have a plastic casing.

Also, it would be an all flat design much like the iPhone 5 and of course would be able to do all that a normal metal design iPhone can do.

It would come in various colours like Red, Yellow, Blue etc.

While some might be thrilled that Apple is making phones that would suit their pockets, it may turn out that these sets of iPhones won't be even as cheap as some would have expected.

Furthermore, Having an iPhone in plastic may not be something that some Apple fans would appreciate and therefore may have its own new kind of target audience.

Any which way, an iPhone is an iPhone and would function as one without any limitation

For now, we don't have an exact date on when it would be launching, however, there is a possibility of it coming out this fall.
