iFaith version 1.5+ will Save Blobs for iPhone 5 iOS 6.1.4.
As you may have heard by now that Apple released iOS 6.1.4 yesterday for iPhone 5 device alone.
This update is minor and seek to improve the audio profile for speakerphone on iPhone 5.
For most people with iPhone 5 that are jailbroken untethered on iOS 6.1.2, it is advised you remain on 6.1.2 and stay away from updating to this new minor update because it will render your device non - jailbreakable.
For those that want to fetch and save their Blobs for the new 6.1.4 update for iPhone 5, iFaith v1.5+ (1.5.8 being the latest) can make it happen.
Follow the guide below to achieve this.
Requirements
- iFaith version 1.5.8
- Windows computer
- iPhone 5 running iOS 6.1.4
Device
- iPhone 5
Note 1
There is no jailbreak for iPhone 5 running iOS 6.1.4. This guide is just to help you save your Blobs in case you want to restore to it at a later time
Note 2
iPhone 3GS running iOS 6.1.3 was used in this guide but the procedure for iPhone 5 iOS 6.1.4 is the same.
Procedures
Step 1: Download iFaith v 1.5.8 to your desktop
Step 2: Connect your iPhone 5 running iOS 6.1.4 to the computer with your usb cable
Step 3: Launch iFaith and click on "Show Available SHSH blobs on Server"
Step 4: Now select your device in the list if your device wasn't automatically detected. If auto detected, you would be asked if you want to use your connected device. click Yes.
Step 5: Once connected, click on "Fetch the latest SHSH blobs Apple is actively signing".
iFaith would communicate with device, Apple server etc and get your blobs and APTicket for your device which will be stored on your computer and also submitted to Cydia.
Step 6: After this, you would be asked if you want to download all available blobs or just a few. Click on Download all available blobs.
Step 7: Select the folder you want the blobs to be saved and click OK.
Step 8: iFaith will download all blobs and would save it on your computer as shown in the image above and you are done.
There it is folks, you have successfully saved your blobs for your iPhone 5 running iOS 6.1.4
